How To Apply

Before you apply you must also read our Terms of Business, and Key Facts documents.

To start with you need to get a quote. Click on the button to the right and you will be taken through to a data capture form. On the data capture form there are a list of questions such as your D.O.B., whether or not you are a smoker, and how many years would you like to be covered for? As this is a non advised process, when entering these details you need to be as accurate and honest possible as these will determine your quotes. After you have completed these questions press “Get quote”. Once you have done this you will see a list of providers with their various premiums, sorted by price.

Applying by phone (The simple option)

For applications with Legal and General, Friends Life and LV you can apply by phone. If you see a quote from one of these companies that you would like to apply for, instead of pressing the “Next” button, just click on the button above the quotes that says “If you find a quote from Legal & General, Friends Life or LV that you like, click here to apply by phone.” and enter the required details into the following page. Someone from the insurance company will then give you a call to take you through the application. It is only once you have been accepted by the insurance company and your policy has started that you will need to pay our fee of £15.00. You can do this by following the link to Google checkout on this page of the website.

We request that our fee is paid within 30 days of your cover beginning and we just ask that you pay promptly. Thank you.

Applying by post (The “No fee” option)

To apply by post you will need to allow Pop-ups.

To apply to the other insurance companies you will need to fill out the forms yourself and then send them to us by post, all you need to do is select the quote you wish to apply for and click on “Next”.

You will then be asked to check the Personalised Illustration, and read the Key Features document. These two documents set out how the policy you have selected will work and confirm how much it will cost. We recommend you download and save these documents at this stage.

Once you have ticked the boxes to confirm that you have done this, you will be able to download and print your application form. This will appear as a pop-up so please ensure that you have adjusted your settings to allow pop-ups from Brightlight Insurance.

You will need to print and send the following forms to us at the address below*.

  1. Personalised Illustration (This will be available to download after you have received your online quote)
  2. Application Form (Please fully complete, signing both the form & Direct Debit mandate where appropriate) (This will also be available to download after you have received your online quote)
  3. Client Declaration (Download a copy now)
  4. Please also enclose a blank A4 envelope with a 2nd Class stamp to the value of £1.00. Any applications received without this will not be processed.

Once we receive your application it will be processed by the insurance company and they will notify you of their decision as to whether or not they are happy to accept you. On completion, and acceptance, your policy documents are forwarded to you.
